- 1 lb (454 g) ground beef - 8 oz (225 g) macaroni (dry) - 6 slices bacon, approx. 3 oz (85 g) total - 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
1. Cook macaroni in a large pot of boiling water until al dente, drain and set aside. 2. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp; remove bacon and reserve rendered fat in the skillet. 3. Add ground beef to the skillet with the bacon fat and cook, breaking up, until evenly browned and cooked through. 4. Stir cooked macaroni into the browned beef, pour in heavy cream, and simmer gently until the cream thickens and coats the pasta and beef, about 3–5 minutes. 5. Chop or crumble the reserved bacon and stir into the skillet; heat through and serve warm.
